In which of the following cases the value of the integral is more than 10?

A. ∫02∣x∣ dx\displaystyle\int_0^2 |x|\,dx

B. ∫02(x+3)2 dx\displaystyle\int_0^2 (x+3)^2\,dx

C. ∫02ex dx\displaystyle\int_0^2 e^x\,dx

D. ∫02(2x+5) dx\displaystyle\int_0^2 (2x+5)\,dx

Choose the correct answer from the options given below:

Solution

✅ Correct Option: 3

∫02∣x∣dx=2\int_0^2|x|dx = 2 and ∫02exdx=e2−1≈6.4\int_0^2 e^x dx = e^2-1 \approx 6.4, both below 1010. But ∫02(x+3)2dx=125−273=983≈32.7\int_0^2 (x+3)^2 dx = \frac{125-27}{3} = \frac{98}{3} \approx 32.7 and ∫02(2x+5)dx=4+10=14\int_0^2 (2x+5)dx = 4+10 = 14 both exceed 1010.
