If corner points of the bounded feasible region of a linear programming problem are as in the figure given below and z=px+qyz = px + qy, (p,q>0)(p,q > 0) is an objective function. Then the relation between pp and qq, when zz is maximum at D(4,10)D(4,10) and C(6,8)C(6,8), is:

Solution

✅ Correct Option: 3

If zz is maximum at both D(4,10)D(4,10) and C(6,8)C(6,8), the values of zz there are equal.

4p+10q=6p+8q⇒2q=2p⇒p=q4p+10q = 6p+8q \Rightarrow 2q = 2p \Rightarrow p = q.
