If A can do 1/4 of a work in 3 days and B can do 1/6 of the same work in 4 days, how much will A get if both work together and are paid Rs. 180 in total?

Solution

Correct Option: 4

A does 14\frac{1}{4} work in 3 days

So in 1 day, A does 112\frac{1}{12} work

B does 16\frac{1}{6} work in 4 days

So in 1 day, B does 124\frac{1}{24} work

Together in 1 day they do 112+124=324\frac{1}{12} + \frac{1}{24} = \frac{3}{24} work

Their ratio of work = 1/121/24=2:1\frac{1/12}{1/24} = 2:1

Therefore A:B = 2:1

Of ₹180, A will get 23×180=120\frac{2}{3} × 180 = ₹120

Therefore, A will get ₹120.
