A train running at a speed of 54 km/hr crosses a platform which is double of the length of the train in 18 seconds. What is the length of the platform and train?

Solution

Correct Option: 1

Speed =54×518=15= 54 \times \frac{5}{18} = 15 m/s. Total distance =15×18=270= 15 \times 18 = 270 m. If train is xx, platform is 2x2x, so 3x=2703x = 270, x=90x = 90. Train =90= 90 m, platform =180= 180 m.
