In that National Games, if we consider participants from all states of India, including the five for which data has been provided, the total number of participants in the track events was 475% more than those who represented the five given states in track events, the total number of participants in the field events was 525% of those who represented the five given states in field events, and the total number of participants in swimming events was 4 times those who represented the five given states in swimming events. What was the combined number of participants in these three types of events at this National Games, if participants from all states of India were counted?

Solution

✅ Correct Option: 4

Total participants from the five states:

Track =420+288+552+528+336=2124= 420 + 288 + 552 + 528 + 336 = 2124

Field =312+384+360+576+432=2064= 312 + 384 + 360 + 576 + 432 = 2064

Swimming =540+480+432+504+408=2364= 540 + 480 + 432 + 504 + 408 = 2364

"475% more than" means the original plus 475% of it:

100%+475%=575%100\% + 475\% = 575\%, so the multiplier is 5.755.75

"525% of" gives a multiplier of 5.255.25

"4 times" gives a multiplier of 44

Track =5.75×2124=12213= 5.75 \times 2124 = 12213

Field =5.25×2064=10836= 5.25 \times 2064 = 10836

Swimming =4×2364=9456= 4 \times 2364 = 9456

Combined total =12213+10836+9456=32505= 12213 + 10836 + 9456= 32505
