If CE is parallel to DB, what is the value of xx:

Figure for CUET General Test 2023 15 June Shift 2 question 24 (Geometry)

Solution

Correct Option: 4

In triangle ABD, angle ADB = 180(110+30)=40180 - (110 + 30) = 40 degrees. In triangle BDC, angle BDC = 7540=3575 - 40 = 35 degrees. Then in triangle BDC, angle DBC = 1806035=85180 - 60 - 35 = 85 degrees. Since CE is parallel to DB, by alternate interior angles, angle BCE = angle DBC = 85 degrees.
