The table below gives the percentage of marks obtained by 6 students in 6 subjects in an examination. Answer the following questions based on the data given in the table. The numbers in brackets are the maximum marks in each subject. What is the overall percentage of A, B and C respectively?

Solution

Correct Option: 4

This question was deleted (they forgot to mention percentage signs in the table: e.g. A got 70% of 120 in Physics), but here's the solution anyway if you solved it :)

For Student A:

Total marks = 70+75+70+65+60+70=41070 + 75 + 70 + 65 + 60 + 70 = 410

Percentage = 410720×100=56.94%\frac{410}{720} × 100 = 56.94\%

For Student B:

Total marks = 80+70+75+60+50+75=41080 + 70 + 75 + 60 + 50 + 75 = 410

Percentage = 410720×100=56.94%\frac{410}{720} × 100 = 56.94\%

For Student C:

Total marks = 75+72+71+70+60+65=41375 + 72 + 71 + 70 + 60 + 65 = 413

Percentage = 413720×100=57.36%\frac{413}{720} × 100 = 57.36\%

Therefore, the overall percentages are:

Student A: 56.94%56.94\%

Student B: 56.94%56.94\%

Student C: 57.36%57.36\%
