I am facing North now. I take two left turns while walking, walk 30 m and 20 m respectively. Then I turn right and walk 20 m and then turning left walk 30 m. Then I turn left again and walk 80 m. In which direction am I from the starting point?

Take east as +x+x and north as +y+y, starting at (0,0)(0,0).

Left from north: west 30 m →(−30,0)\to (-30, 0). Left again: south 20 m →(−30,−20)\to (-30,-20). Right: west 20 m →(−50,−20)\to (-50,-20). Left: south 30 m →(−50,−50)\to (-50,-50). Left: east 80 m →(30,−50)\to (30,-50).

The final point lies east and south of the start, i.e. South-East.
