A sector as shown in the figure is assembled to form a cone. What is the base radius (in cm) of the cone so formed ? (π=227)\left(\pi = \frac{22}{7}\right)Figure for CUET General Test 2023 30 May Shift 3 question 5 (Geometry)

Solution

Correct Option: 2

Arc length of the sector = circumference of the base of the cone.

Arc length =210360×2π×9=712×18π=10.5π= \frac{210}{360} \times 2\pi \times 9 = \frac{7}{12} \times 18\pi = 10.5\pi cm.

Setting this equal to 2πr2\pi r: r=10.5π2π=5.25r = \frac{10.5\pi}{2\pi} = 5.25 cm.
