VA is the problem

Bhaiya pls help I started my prep in May I did only QA till August, my QA is good like I score 40+ in sa and 35+In MCQ ( maths has always been my strongest subject) but I am very weak at va I score 60 , is it possible to improve my score in va (130)starting properly now (I even find english boring 😭), I take lot of time to do rc 13 mins and even get nervous, sometimes I go over the rc taking 7 to 8 mins but nothing goes in my mind !

Glad to see that your QA is good.

It is absolutely possible to improve VA. Firstly, don't think that it is boring. You must romanticise your preparation journey — else, you'll not be intrinsically motivated. Almost everyone who gets in (without a good base) has fallen in love with the journey.

  1. Make your entire life about English. I want you to take the initiative of putting your above post into Claude and asking it to pin-point the grammatical mistakes. Then, ask it to teach you those concepts with a lot of examples.
  2. Understand that you can't learn VA the same way as you learnt QA.
  3. Contrasting your thought process and recognising why your inference/extrapolation or the crux of what you deciphered does NOT match what the author is trying to say. This is the essence of the 5-why analysis.

Bhaiya final doubt is how to reduce time as my accuracy is good as my avg score in rc is 19 but avg time 14 mins 😭

Will just reading help in time reduction as I am reading for two months but time remains same

Are you going back and reading the same passage again-and-again for each question?

No I read it in one go single time and take 10 mins and then 30 sec for each question making it around 13 mins

Based on our limited interaction, I'm getting the feeling that English isn't something that you're the most comfortable with (and that's okay -- everyone starts somewhere). Right now, if it's taking that long, it either means that you're having a tough time comprehending big passages that use heavy language (or) you're very fluent in reading (so, I suck at Hindi, when I need to read Hindi passages, I have to go word-by-word... however, in English, I just look at the screen and my mind automatically reads it).

I want you to start becoming a bibliophile. Reading needs to become second-nature... and this takes time to develop.

Yes that's problem I think whenever I read a rc after reading a part i think over it ( sometimes decoding it in hindi) what to do ,read more and more stuff?
