Second Afterboards Mock; feedback appreciated.

Exam: 3 bins

SA: 2 bins

MCQ: 5 bins

VARC: 3 bins

Overall performance was decent, but there is still a long way to go before reaching a sub-30 rank.

VARC was particularly difficult in this mock. I had scored ~140+ in the last three PYPs and 130 in Mock 1, which made me believe that my VARC preparation was on track. However, this mock was quite disillusioning. My strategy of attempting questions even when I did not know the answer turned out to be a poor decision and significantly affected my VARC performance.

I also felt unusually drained during this section. I have never previously felt exhausted while attempting VARC, but in this mock it almost felt as if my cognition dropped midway. This was after hearing people mention that they struggle with VARC after two long QA sections. Perhaps that idea subconsciously affected me and turned into a negative placebo effect.

In terms of SA, the score is acceptable, but it could have been significantly better if I had avoided a few silly mistakes.

Also does the competitive pool include people from last year which would imply that my rank and the overall competition pool is lesser?

Your QA is definitely top 30 level (atleast top 27 level lol), VA is also good given that I too did take a -20 hit here due to difficulty. Also, don't trust PYPs, I used to score 150-170 there and quite a few of us scored 270-290 in those because: https://www.afterboards.in/forums/ipmat/verbal-ability/Jn24pZ_can_i_ignore_verbal_ability?commentId=h3RRTiUJ5byaZf1R

Bhaiya atp. I should not run after concepts anymore?

Like i have done the basics and I can solve mid level ques. Toh ab bass mock and no more concept?

I am weak in some topics though. I have covered there concept but still can't solve em.

concepts will be learnt as u discover them:

give a mock -> analyze -> identify unknown stuff -> search it up YT -> spend an hr to learn -> ask GPT to create similar qs

I didnt know Beggar Coin/Partition method before January, Descarte's Rule of Signs before March, Derangement formulae till Feb (and dont know it's proof till date), those prob qs saying 2 ppl stand on a platform for 15mins between 7PM to 10PM whats the prob they see each other (axis banake area finding) till March or so. Wouldn't know these stuff had I not spammed mocks and relied on concept covering (without knowing what r the full list of concepts to be tested).
