Can I ignore Verbal Ability?

I'm a partial dropper, so I also have college going on the side which I cannot neglect completely. And the end-sems of my university are also in May, which further complicates the time I can give for IPMAT prep everyday.

Basically, last year I scored 96 in Indore VA, 97 percentile in IIMK BMS VA (messed up QA).

In the latest sectional I attempted, I scored 126/180 (Indore VA). So should I focus my time on QA, or should I hone VA since it is more scoring?

Don't trust sectional scores, take 3 mocks and find ur average VA scores, if it's above 130, u should prep for QA more with VA sectionals here and there

If I'm able to consistently score 130+ in VA in PYPs but not Aftb mocks, should I focus on QA still?

Nope, only Mock VA sections count. PYPs are always highscoring, the 2024 paper felt very tough for 24tards but easy for us (23 paper even more so, we were scoring 280s which was AIR 1-2 that year), 25 paper feels easy for quite a few 26 aspirants but was very tough for us -> this is because each subsequent batch trains on materials made from the last few pyps so the novelty factor doesnt exist, u have practiced on 100 different refactoring of those papers which is why you find it easy.

So that means our score is likely to take a hit when we appear for the actual exam and will probably score even less than we do in our sectionals and mocks ? Or do mocks have some novelty factor?

mocks do have novelty factor, they are designed to use CAT/JEE and other entrances stuff as well not hardcoded by the few pyps of IPMAT Indore. and yeah u'll likely take a hit in the real one, I used to score 240-250 in the last one month or so of prep but messed up the SA DILR (adding 3+4+5+6+7=20 and losing 12 marks there), mostly that is inevitable, just ensure ur norm is set so high up that even with that hit u do fine with it.

but there r certain exceptions who totally clutch it in the real one, nikhilesh was one such, guy used to score 230-250 normally just killed it on d-day

Oh he was AIR 1 right ?? That's insane!

My average currently is around 240 , but it is mostly driven by QASA and QAMCQ , on an average I get around 48-50 in QASA and around 75 in QAMCQ (usually in 80s but the drops to 60s in some mocks bring down the average) , and I am focusing completely on VA to get it consistently above 140

I guess I have the margin to take the hit in QA but not in VA(currently)

We shouldn't trust VA sectional scores because they are adaptable, right ??

that's a good thing for practice, idk whats it with it but ppl normally find sectionals easier (my avg score though was same for sectional and mocks)
