Hi guys,
I'm new to the whole afterboards community. My weakest section is QA. Even topics that I usually find easy in school like time and work I find it really hard in the sectionals test. I feel really helpless and I'm not sure how to improve with such a short amount of time left and with the whole 12th grade boards pressure. Any tips on how to improve and which sections to focus on would be extremely helpful.
All the best with learning guys!

First of all, welcome to the AfterBoards community! ❤️ On behalf of everyone here, I hope you have a great learning journey ahead.
Also, don't think of QA as your "weakest section." I prefer thinking of it as a section that just needs more practice.
One thing that helped me was realizing that IPMAT/JIPMAT QA isn't a Maths test, it's an aptitude test. The exam isn't checking whether you can solve every question. It's checking how efficiently, accurately and logically you can reach the answer under time pressure.
It's completely normal to be good at a topic in school but still struggle with it in sectionals or mocks because solving under time pressure is a different skill altogether.
A few suggestions that might help:
1. If a question is taking too much time, don't force it. Mark it for review and move on. You can always come back later if time permits. Learning when to leave a question is just as important as learning how to solve it.
2. Spend some time building an attempt strategy. Even saving 3–4 minutes can give you enough time to solve 2–3 extra questions accurately.
3. Since you're in Class 12, don't ignore boards. Try to maintain a balance between school studies and IPMAT preparation instead of sacrificing one for the other.
4. Put extra effort into VA as well. For many students, that's the section which improves faster and helps increase the overall score.
5. If sectionals feel too difficult right now, don't worry. Give topic tests first, practice RC daily, and solve the weekly DILR sets available on AfterBoards. Once you feel more comfortable, start attempting sectionals again.
6. Finally, don't let mocks decide your confidence. No college is going to give us admission on the basis of mocks . Treat them as practice sessions. A better mindset, confidence and composure can genuinely improve your performance. As Bhavesh Bhaiya often says, confidence and composure alone can add around 10% to your score.
Oh wow, really well said!
woahhh!!!
Thank you so much for the tips i will definitely keep them in mind :)
