[Guide] Preparing for IPMAT 2026: the no-nonsense approach :3
Can I crack IPMAT 2026 if I start now? I've seen people study for 2 years and not make it. I've seen people study for 2 weeks (for IPMAT) and make it. You'll know if you try. If I tell you "no", will you stop preparing?
Stop fretting over the perfect study-plan/coaching/resource for 100x efficiency.
Understand Exam Pattern: It's important to grasp the exam pattern so you don’t waste time learning syllabus that is not a part of IPMAT. The most effective method for that is to attempt previous year papers. Give them with the expectation of getting 0 on the mocks. Your high-school math knowledge would allow you to solve at least a couple of questions. We can build on that.
Doing this is similar to putting a thermometer and checking your fever. It tells us your current level. If it's very low (below 100 marks, then you have to put in a lot more effort), if it's very good (180+ marks), then you're at a good stage, perhaps you don't need classes, you need more question practice.

Start Learning a Topic: Pick a topic that you have a base in & has occurred frequently in the past exams. Let's say you like 'permutations and combinations', dive into that first!
How can you learn for the same (free method)?: Just go on YouTube, search up for basic CAT videos of the topic and watch 1-2 videos of the same (don't worry about "best teacher" — it's pretty homogeneous, just check who vibes with you the most). Also, the YouTube teacher I might like... you might not like. Hence, please spend 30 minutes, go through the top search results, see whose teaching style you like (by actually watching their videos)! Don't just take our recommendations.
Then, jump to solving questions: maths can't be practiced without putting pen on paper! For this you can use topic tests of AfterBoards, or get CAT/JEE books (Arun Sharma for CAT, RD Sharma objective type for JEE).

The 4-level topic test has been made free for every user. The first level is very easy, the fourth level could make you cry (but you'll learn a lot).

Mocks: Once you are done with 4-5 topics, start giving sectional tests because it's important to get used to the timer, you can't start giving mocks 2 months before the exam as you have boards at that time, it'll even get more stressful for you, so the earlier you learn to manage time in mocks the better it would be! Lastly, do at least 1 mock in every two weeks, spend time on analysing it, learn from the solutions and strategize how you're going to attempt the next one!

Any tips for droppers?
Handle emotions well -- it is easy to feel stressed because this becomes a "do-or-die" situation. Recognise that being calm can increase your marks by a lot! Indore isn't the only college in the world, have good backups. Don't romanticise just one college -- be open and embrace the ambiguity.

What can be the most basic topics in quants that we can complete to start off sectionals and how can we manage finishing all the topics in just 3 months from now as we gotta start giving mocks and even have boards and sats for a couple of months?

Then, come one step ahead, watch IPMAT lectures.
Keep recallibrating yourself based on your existing knowledge!

I started my preparation from July end can I crack the complete the portions and crack the exam . What are the topics I need to learn first and concentrate more?

How do I analyse my mocks and sectionals without spending too much time and learning from them especially when I haven't completed all of the syllabus topics?
Analysis will take more time THAN the attempt. You have to sit and learn from the solutions (of questions) from the chapters you've being exposed to so far!

I just started the ipmat preperation on April 1st, everybody says give "mocks".Inorder to give mocks understanding concepts is an important factor.for the concepts the lectures are available on the app.But will i able to crack ipmat by watching all the lectures and understanding the concepts and giving mocks?or watching lectures during the final month is a waste of time? Totally confused!!! HELP
The doctor puts a thermometer to see your current status EVEN before you take the paracetemol. It's not like you're going to be absolutely blank in all 3 sections. You've learnt basic math throughout your highschool to be able to find a couple of questions and solve them. If this is not happening, it's a warning sign that you need to work doubly hard.

I can't guarantee you this. However, I can gaurantee you the opposite -- if you choose to not study and make your base, the chances of cracking IPMAT Indore is slim.

Absolutely not. This is the period where most people get serious, watch a lot more lectures, and go bonkers!
Hey I just gave a jipmat 2022 paper
I was clat aspirant so Rc were not problem and had applied mathematics in class 12
I am pretty aware with the syllabus of ipmat rohtak and jipmat
I scored 202 out of 400 in paper
I am quite aware with basics of arithmetic, I know algebra quadratic equation log and indic inequality ( applied maths ) probability p and c

From. Last days I focused on syllabus conpletion and question practice of arithmetic topic
I am completing grammar rules and vocab from word power made easy + I prepared for them in clat
Now how i should I take the action to study for both of the exams
I have been studying since August, completed all topics (except 4- 5 remaining).
But during jan i hit peak depression ( whole jan No topics studied). I studied sincerely from 27th Jan to 13 feb . From 13 to 27 feb ( trying everything to renew the EWS certificate)
28th Feb - finally fills Ipmat indore form (EWS)
29feb to 10th March studing only 2-3 hours a day .
11th March - My coaching QA teacher and Mentor leaves coaching for Another coaching.
14th-19th March consistently studying.
20 - 22March again no serious study .

Right now, you've not taken any remedial action to fix your VA on our platform:
Daily RCs are not attempted, none of the words are defined.
You've also not finished the free module (and the 100+ conceptual questions attached to the video).
You've also not completed the free 4-level topic tests.
The problem isn't information right now, it's you not taking the action to study.
You can't revise when you've not studied so far. If you have studied, write the free mock, show us where you stand, else, we won't be able to guide properly.
The more effort you put into, the more effort we can reciprocate.
I am just starting my prep and started with a few free lectures from afterboards and also did the worksheets attached to them. The best thing is the lectures are very precise and to the point but I feel like in the worksheets I am repeating a lot of easy and basic questions. I really want to complete the syllabus as soon as possible(before July if possible). How should I go about that?Also where should I study lr from or should I just leave it and do it after I am done with quant concepts as it is not asked in ipmat indore. I am also an sc candidate with total one year of prep time but still I wanna score 200+.

Yes, because maths can't be 'remembered' by just doing 1 question of each topic, consistent practice until it becomes muscle memory is required.
Then, jump to level 1 to level 4 topic-tests, they'll give you even more practice!
You can do LRDI of Rohtak/JIPMAT through basic Banking SSC exams too, it's very straightforward.

Sir, mostly it's verbal and maths... verbal I'll handle. But for math I want to practice as much as possible. I'm thinking of completing the topics from Jee videos and questions can you still give some advice and tips pls.

Yes -- however, if JEE questions are hard, can jump to a lower level too (all the resources mentioned in the above post).
I recently purchased "courseware on QA by Arun Sharma", for IPMAT Indore, so which LOD's should I do? as I've started my prep for couple of weeks only and now I only have 3 months to go, I'm a comm+maths student (avg math level hi h mera),

Do linear equations, then polynomials, then the sequence doesn't matter much.
LoD-2 is a minimum to set your base, after that, jump to a lot of our sectionals and mocks. Plus, have you watched video lectures?
I watched some on youtube for arithmetic where they were solving pyq's from indore, rohtak and jipmat and I was able to solve them, but for algebra, it was too basic(what they taught) and when I got to do questions from indore, the level was very high so I became a lil confused on how to study algebra. Are AfterBoards video lectures sufficient for me to study algebra and practice it using sectionals and mocks or some select youtube lectures can also help me regarding this?
Yes, our objective with the lectures is to make sure that you're able to understand the solution of questions that you get wrong or leave unanswered such that you're able to learn from them well.
If you still feel underconfident, you can always supplement it with more sources of learning (like YT oneshorts).
I gave IPMAT last year scored very less and want to try this year again but currently also pursuing dual degree one from DU and another is IIMB online so how shall I give my best to IPMAT also a non math student from commerce stream
Do you have the time to study for IPMAT when you already have so much going on in your life?
Agreed don't have time to study but will try my best in that to give IPMAT with a full preparation although also have IIMB T2& DU SEM2 paper both in may and also IPMAT but till dates are not clashing will try to give but need some guidance for that to appear in IPMAT as I have a very weak mathematics and was able to solve all LRDI questions in SA section which came last year.

It won't! Many students from non-CBSE/ICSE boards clear the exam every year!
i have a lil confusion, as i had commerce w/o maths in my 12th std, higher level topics which i had never studied before, i do take lectures and there's this limited info of the topic that they give (acc to them ipmat specific) which is great but when I get to solve questions there are some which I can't solve with utna knowledge, then idk if it's my kami or concepts I wasn't taught are used or there's this new method so should I consider it my shortcoming or that should i do that or not idk it's confusing (CAT arun sharma I'm using) for QA
It's normal to feel this way with completely new topics. However, if you do (say) the video lectures of logarithms on our website, and then the associated conceptual worksheets (linked to the video), and subsequently our 4-level adaptive topic-tests, you'll be at a VERY good stage. You can then keep patching your knowledge gaps by learning from the questions you've gotten wrong!

Can you show a screenshot of how your practice page looks like? There are 3 topics (Time & Work, Progression & Series, Incorrect Word) that are free wrt the 4-level adaptive topic tests!
