I didn't prep for VA honestly, and if u r also getting 140s, u can make better use of ur time. After 140s it's just a luck issue not a skill issue. I understand ur paranoid feeling, I also felt so, which is why I grinded on GPT for some time but then again there is only a certain scope of improving things in VA.
I had been a great student in my school at 6th-10th grade (academically atleast lol), scoring 1450 in SAT in 9th Grade. But then yk what happens post boards, I learnt nothing of calculus and advanced algebra and stuff and started off as the least scoring in class when it comes to maths by end of 11th grade, that became like an identity i myself joked abt. Firse SAT diya 11th pe bas 60 marks badhe, though English remained strong with 760, maths pe aya 750 jo kisiko bhi ajayega. Lekin tab kuchh toh hua tha jo forced me to atleast try to improve cuz I wanted a singledigit rank (sigh) in IPMAT. The rest I covered in the reddit ama comment linked above.
I finally scored 40-49-141. First mock was 16-20-150 13 months before D-Day. VA net improvement: -9.
