Hello to everyone, for context, I have heard that tier 1 colleges are very competitive and the social structures aren't upto expectations. I have read the reviews of SRCC and IPM seniors. The parallels are concerning, they two like other top tier institutions are extremely competitive and everyone are corporate, people tend form groups and you feel lonely asf ! I believe that college atmosphere is imperative in success, having a more inclusive will supplement your mental health doesn't it? Seniors, who have been through these please share your experiences!

Yes certainly people here are very competitive. Everybody has grown up being the smartest in the room, now if you put them all in a room together there's bound to be insecurity and rivalry. There's relative grading to make matters worse. But humans by nature are cooperative, hence you will see small groups of 8-10 friends forming which help each other among themselves unconditionally. There are 3-4 people who are both competent and extremely secure and share all notes and materials with the whole batch. The lonely matter is a valid fear, but almost everybody, unless they have sociopathic behaviour, finds their own people just due to the diversity here.
Reading your reply, it seems that it isn't that bad as being depicted in comments and posts. How to survive bruddah? It will be first time if i crack, i come from a tier 3 school so i am not aware and I am extremely extroverted and can make friends easily, can i survive.? Thanks in advance.
Yes being extroverted ofc will benefit you. It's not that big a deal as ppl make here, just normal batch dynamics. The academic competitiveness dies down after Term 1, only the top 30 continue to bother, others become chill and find other priorities in life.
