Your personality is a function of the content that you consume, books that you read, the people around you and the type of conversations you're engaged in.
If the professor asks about "forex", I can share about my experience in the D2C sector selling PowerPoints in the US market, how I got USD into India and my experience in facing the regulatory hurdles (back in 2018). I can then expand on the different factors that affect the trade and the conversion.
How do I know this? Interest -> Motivation -> Action.
I read a lot. I have absorbed a lot of Wikipedia like a sponge growing up. I watched a lot of VSauce, CrashCourse, Veritasium, Mark Rober and more.
This makes me a better conversationalist at the end of the day.
Start with self-reflection rather than self-criticism. Instead of focusing on what you lack, spend time understanding what you've actually learned from your experiences, even the ordinary ones. Maybe you worked through a difficult group project, handled a part-time job, or navigated a challenging situation with family or friends. These experiences taught you something about yourself -- resilience, problem-solving, patience. Those insights are what make for compelling interview stories.
However, in the case of IPMAT, it's going to be an ACADEMIC interview mostly. So, your 11th/12th grade knowledge plays a major role.
