An article is sold at a certain price. If it at 2/3 of that price, one loses 10%. Find the gain percentage at original price.

Solution

✅ Correct Option: 4

Let cost price be CC and selling price SS.

Selling at 23S\frac{2}{3}S gives a 10% loss, so 23S=0.9C\frac{2}{3}S = 0.9C.

Then S=32(0.9C)=1.35CS = \frac{3}{2}(0.9C) = 1.35C, a gain of 35%.

Note: The second sentence is incomplete in the original NTA response sheet; we have read it as the article being sold at two-thirds of the stated price.
