But, time is the major problem for me (for any kind or difficulty of passage). If skim reading is done, understanding the gist would be compromised.
What do you people actually do and what's your approach to attempt a RC within 5/6 minutes?

Very happy to hear this, this is honestly your strongest point. Never compromise on this front as it will keep your accuracy high.
Now coming to the harder passages, realise that you can't have the same accuracy while giving it the same amount of time. If the passage is hard, become okay giving 10 mins + instead of compromising on your comprehension as over time you will become comfortable with the harder english. Moreover, you will also have a better idea of what RCs are hard by just a glimpse which will help you strategize better when you have limited time in mocks/actual exam.
every time i try to genuinely make the reading quick, it still takes 4-5 mins. if i skim, comprehending would be compromised.
Vani di i would like to share my personal expeience what happens when I move to VA section after 80 mins of exhaustive Quants, my reading speed used to reduce to some extent and one can't observe it in Daily RCs but the day I moved to mocks I could observe it. 4-6 minutes of reading and understanding RCs looks a little concerning as the new format (making an assumption tha it would be the case this year too) with 3 rcs would lead to time constraints in my POV.
