It won't match because, if we break it down then in the first part there should be two -ing verbs , which is grammatically correct for describing the reasearch team's actions.
The verbs "produces" and "Presents" are both in simple present tense, which is why they are maintaining the consistency of the sentence.
I think option 3 is the best choice also because of the better sentence flow. I may not be entirely correct but I hope it helps!
