if one row is an equation , rank represents the number of rows which give different information.

here the first and second rows give different equations , applying row operations on row3 and row4 results in them being identical to row2 , therefore giving no new information about the equations.

and thats basically 2 linear equations

think of it like 2x+4y=0 and 4x+8y=0 , both the equations are basically the same , we have to apply transformations to identify which of them may be same

any explaination given or just key

2

no they only gave key to it no explaination, thats why i asked it here

wtf is a rank

if it means determinant, than its gonna be very tedious

Youd need to find determinant of 3*3 matrix 4 times

it was in my coaching module i also dont know.

2

nah its not determinant it is smtg related to independent columns or rows
