how to analyse mocks

I read somewhere from cat that a person should at least spend twice the time he gave in attempting the mock because after giving the mock it is equally important to analyse that mock. So I wanna know how to analyse properly because previous year, I used to just solve the mock immediately sit and see where I went wrong. Nothing else I just saw what I did wrong. Try to correct and try to remember what I did wrong. that was my only approach, but can anyone tell me what is a successful approach, specially for the student studying in Indore because they must have given many many mocks than me, so they must be having more knowledge about how to analyse properly. currently what I am doing is I am maintaining a notebook in which I am writing the questions where I went wrong. How do I went? And why did I went wrong in all the three sections if anyone is having a better approach in this please
