The Future

With the IPMAT INDORE over, which i believe went well for me (not the best i could have done but not bad). I am very confident that i will be able to make it to the interview round, hence i wanted to ask the senior few questions about (these questions are after reading the interview guide on the platform)

I am from PCM stream and a full dropper hence i havent studied Physics and chem for a year, so i want to ask how indepth should i go for it, would doing theoritical part be enough or should i practice numericals and derivations.
Since this is a management course i would need to study some commerce subjects as well , so which subject do i study and how in depth?

For PCM students, interviewers usually do understand that you may be a bit rusty after a drop year, so the expectation generally is not JEE-level depth. You should definitely revise core Class 11–12 concepts, important formulas, definitions, applications, and basic derivations/reasoning behind them. Numerical solving practice helps, but you do not need to go extremely deep unless you were already very strong in those subjects.

What matters more is whether you can confidently explain fundamentals when cross-questioned. If they ask something from Physics or Chem, they usually keep pushing based on your own answers, so clarity of concepts matters more than memorising difficult derivations. For PCM students, Maths often becomes the safest academic area, so keep that strong.

For commerce-related preparation, you do not need to study entire Class 11–12 commerce from scratch. Just build basic awareness of commonly discussed topics like:
