Is Applying to just them fine

Which colleges you should apply to depends heavily on your expected IPMAT score. Application strategy should always be aligned with realistic outcomes rather than assumptions.

1. Importance of Applying Even with a Good Score

Even if you are scoring well, it is still wise to apply to multiple colleges. Personally, I applied to Symbiosis and NMIMS despite having a decent score because I considered the worst case. The risk of ending up with no college at all is very real, and having backup options prevents last-minute regret.

2. Strategy if You Are Scoring 200+ in IPMAT

If you are scoring 200+, you should definitely apply to IIMs as your primary targets. However, you should also keep at least one strong backup option, such as Nirma University. The “what if” scenario where results do not go as expected, can become reality very quickly, and without backups, you may be left with no options despite good preparation.

3. On Applying to IIM Rohtak

When it comes to IIM Rohtak, I would strongly recommend applying. Even if you do not convert it, the interview experience itself is extremely valuable. It serves as a real, high-pressure warm-up for interviews like IIM Indore, something mock interviews cannot fully replicate. Additionally, if you perform well, you may even secure admission, so there is no downside.

4. Assumptions Behind This Advice

This guidance assumes that:

• You come from a middle-class family
• You are a General category student
• You are scoring 200+ in IPMAT

If any of these assumptions differ, the strategy may need adjustment.

5. Final Note

For more precise guidance, you need to clearly state where you currently stand your mock scores, category, background, and confidence level. Only then can an application strategy be properly assessed.

Is the application cost a big issue here? If not, then try to apply for all of them. You would ideally prefer to end up being in any one of them rather than being in none of them.
