cuet form filling 101

hi, i filled my cuet form a couple of days ago so i thought id share some general tips to help you guys out.

before you start

• go through the info bulletin once (upar upar se is fine).
• from around page 75 onwards (appendices section), there’s a very detailed preview of the entire registration process w screenshots. pls go through that properly, it helps a lot.
• there are also tons of form filling videos on yt by all these coachings. watching one alongside filling the form can be useful

documents to keep ready (v important)

• passport size photo (live photo will also be asked, so be prepared w proper lighting and a plain background).
• scanned signature on a blank white sheet, clear and legible.
• keep 3–4 extra photos of your signature just in case, because it might get rejected.

file size tips (system is v annoying)

• photo should be black & white and between 50–200 kb (mine was ~150 kb).
• signature should be between 10–50 kb.mine kept getting rejected at 30 kb saying “empty file”, but got accepted at 40 kb. no logic, so just be patient.

you might have to compress and upload both photo and signature multiple times.

other docs for filling details

• keep your aadhaar card ready.
• 10th marksheet (also, some ppl are confused abt filling the marks. i think youre supposed to fill in total and obtained marks as it is. like 6 subjects hai toh out 600, 5 hai toh 500. dont do best of five or four)
• category certificate (if applicable).

subject + course selection

• be 100% sure about your subject combination. check the eligibility of the courses you want to apply for beforehand

test city preferences

• you’ll be asked to fill 4 test city preferences, only from your own state.
• go through the list of available cities first and then decide your preferences from nearest to farthest.

technical + sanity tips

• the system may reject your live photo or signature multiple times even if everything is correct. (mine got accepted in 6-7 tries despite meeting all the conditions -- proper lighting, plain bg etc.) be mentally prepared.
• keep your and one of your parent's device w you (for otp when you fill the emergency contact)
• your session can randomly get terminated and you may have to log in again. so pls note the application number and password as soon as you create it.
• PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE close all other tabs while filling the form.for eg, when you google “cuet 2026 registration” and open the website, once the form opens in a new tab, close the old one and keep only the form tab open.

don’t fill the form when you’re sleepy or in a hurry. it easily takes 1.5 to 2 hours with all the captcha (at each step), rechecking and uploads.

sit in a quiet corner and double check details at every step.

everything is written in both english and hindi everywhere, which makes the pages feel very cluttered, so take your time reading.

overall, just be patient. the portal works fine, but tests your patience a lot. hope this helps, and all the best to everyone filling the form :))
