Do we need to submit the category certificates (such as the obc-ncl category certificate, income certificate and ITR for OBC-NCL candidates) at the time of registration ? Or is it required to be presented later during the admission process in the college?
I haven't been able to get it made yet, as I am waiting on my dad's income certificate, which should be ready in about two weeks. Once I have that, I will apply for the OBC-NCL certificate, but I've been informed that this process could take an additional 2-3 weeks, or even longer, possibly up to a month. I’m a bit concerned about when I need to submit the caste documents. Do I need to provide them during the registration, the application process, or only at the time of admission? Any guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to submit OBC-NCL during the time of exam application and once more during the admission verification (if you get the offer letter and confirm your admission) with the new validity (in case the old certificate has expired)
You will have to submit ITR and/or income-certificate during the admission verification at some select colleges.
Bhaiya,
I had one more doubt. Let us assume that someone from obc-ncl made it through interview and all document verifications were completed. Then will he be required to submit the certificate fr each year once the academic year starts ?
They don't have to submit it each year. Just the two times (entrance exam form, college admission vertification).
Thank you
And what is the general expiry date. When should we have made it?
Most NC-OBC certificates expire at the end of the financial year.
So, you'll need the 2025-26 FY certificate for your entrance exam form. You'll need the 2026-27 FY certificate for your college admission vertification.
The financial year starts on 1st April.
Thank You!!
I am currently confused about the differences between an income statement, income certificate, and Income Tax Return (ITR). My father has applied for an income certificate, which is required for obtaining the OBC-NCL certificate. Since I will have the income certificate, would it be acceptable to submit this document alone during the admission process? Additionally, do you recommend that I also file an ITR or obtain an income statement, or would the income certificate suffice?
Income statements are for businesses.
Income certificate is for individuals.
Apologies if I used it interchangeably.
You'll need the certificate and the ITR (for some colleges). I'd recommend you to file the ITR. Filing ITR doesn't imply paying tax. It is to just share the amount earned with the government.
Figured. Thanks a lott !!
