200 shares of Rs.100 each issued at a premium of Rs.10 were forfeited for the non-payment of allotment money of Rs.60 per share including premium. The first and final call of Rs.20 per share on these shares were not made. The forfeited shares were reissued at Rs.70 per share as fully paid-up. Find the amount of capital reserve.

Solution

✅ Correct Option: 4

Total per share is 110110. Since allotment is 6060 and the uncalled call is 2020, application money received is 110−60−20=30110 - 60 - 20 = 30. Amount forfeited =200×30=6,000= 200 \times 30 = 6,000.

On reissue as fully paid at 7070, the discount allowed is 100−70=30100 - 70 = 30 per share, that is 200×30=6,000200 \times 30 = 6,000.

Capital Reserve =6,000−6,000== 6,000 - 6,000 = Nil.
