Solution

✅ Correct Option: 3

Half the stock is 35,000×50%=17,50035,000 \times 50\% = 17,500. The partner takes this at 10%10\% less, that is 15,75015,750, but this is adjusted through his capital account and brings in no cash.

The other half of 17,50017,500 is sold at a gain of 15%15\%: 17,500×1.15=20,12517,500 \times 1.15 = 20,125.

Cash realised from stock is therefore 20,12520,125.
