Amol and Bimal are partners in a firm. Their capitals are Rs. 1,08,000 and Rs. 72,000 respectively. They admitted Chaman for 1/3 share in profits. Chaman brought proportionate amount of capital. The Capital brought in by Chaman would be?

Solution

✅ Correct Option: 2

Combined capital of old partners =1,08,000+72,000=1,80,000= 1,08,000 + 72,000 = 1,80,000.

Chaman takes 13\frac{1}{3}, so the old partners together retain 23\frac{2}{3}.

Total capital of the new firm =1,80,000×32=2,70,000= 1,80,000 \times \frac{3}{2} = 2,70,000.

Chaman's capital =2,70,000×13=90,000= 2,70,000 \times \frac{1}{3} = 90,000.
