A∩B, B∩C, A∩C all the three include A∩B∩C(people watching all the 3 movies) part, so when we add these, A∩B∩C part gets added 3 times and to find the number of people watching 2 out of 3 movies we will have to subtract A∩B∩C part 3 times.
So the formula includes subtracting A∩B∩C which is 'x' 3 times to find out the number of people watching only 2 out of the 3 movies.
