Should I enroll in a crash course at this point , considering i am a dropper and didn't take any coaching earlier

I am a full dropper and I didn’t join any coaching for IPMAT. Now, honestly, I’m regretting that decision. When I see other students preparing alongside preboards and still scoring decently in mocks, it makes me question my approach.

I believed I could cover most topics through YouTube and then improve by solving Arun Sharma and CAT + IPMAT PYQs. But that improvement isn’t showing. My overall mock scores fluctuate in a low range—roughly 106 to 179. So far, I’ve taken around 12 full-length mocks, one every three days, and I practice sectional tests in between.

The most worrying part is that in full-length mocks, I’m not even able to clear the sectional cut-offs consistently in any section.

Verbal Ability (VA)

My highest VA sectional score has been 135, but currently I’m stuck between 85–117. I feel like I’ve tried everything

5-way analysis, writing down reasons, avoiding overthinking—but nothing seems to translate into consistent performance.

The biggest issue is hard RCs. Almost every time, I get at least two questions wrong. What frustrates me most is that during post-test analysis, I realise the correct answer was my second choice, which I eliminated at the last moment.

Earlier, I used to get at least 4 sentence completion questions correct, sometimes through logic, sometimes instinct. But in full mocks, this instinct just doesn’t work.

For parajumbles, I usually attempt at least one, and most of the time it’s correct.

Quantitative Ability (QA)

I’ve prepared QA entirely through online resources:

Arithmetic: Rodha lectures

Modern Maths: JEE lectures

Geometry & Algebra: Mixed sources like iQuanta, SuperGrads, etc.

Despite this, my QA MCQ sectional highest score is only 65, and in the last three sectionals, it’s been around 40.

In QA SA, my highest is 52, but again, the last three have hovered around 40.

After every mock, I attempt topic-wise tests of my weak areas and continue until those are exhausted. Still, my scores aren’t stabilising or improving meaningfully.

At this point, I genuinely feel stuck. I’ve put in the effort and followed what seemed like the “right” methods, but the output doesn’t match.

Please I need clear guidance on what I’m doing wrong and how to fix it—especially given that I’m failing to clear sectional cut-offs in full mocks.
