Hello , I wanted some guidance.
Should I apply for the BS-MS degree at IIT Madras? Is it actually worth it?
I’ve heard the course can get very hectic, so I’m a bit confused. The last date to register is 31 May, and I still haven’t decided.
My main goal is to get into IIM Indore, but I gave JEE Advanced today as a backup option. So I wanted to ask whether this would be a good choice or not.

did u qualify for jee advanced ? and can u manage dual degree along with iim or any.. or do iitm bs-ms as a standalone degree that completely depends on you!
if you dont got any good options then you could definetely choose iitm bs-ms, but if you got some good shots then think of it if u can manage dual degree or not and then enroll.
Yes i did quality for jee adv
But it was more so for fun
And the thing about bs ms degree in data science and application/management is something i am not sure about
I don't know if it's worth the effort
And i have already spent a lot in exam registration fees as well other expenses that comes with it
So i don't think i can decide after enrolling

Only the registration fee of ₹4k is there upfront, nothing else.
As for whether it's worth it, that honestly depends on your mindset. Look at it this way: if you get into an IIM and also do the IITM BS program, they may actually complement each other nicely.
The IIM will cover the management skills, so you'd need to put more focus on the data science part. In the end, juggling both is either going to fuck you up or adds leverage.
