I'm deciding whether to give Eco/Accountancy in CUET 2026. Picking Eco would have been the easy choice had it not been for the increased syllabus this year. I'm scoring higher in eco than accountancy in the PYPs, but I'm not sure how the increased syllabus would affect that.

Generally speaking,
Picking accountancy over economics works better , don't judge your performance based on absolute scores, check ranks. Given the same score you would have scored more percentile in accountancy than economics.
Increased syllabus for economics indeed makes it harder to cover the syllabus.
Well after all it's pretty subjective
Covering micro and macro economics together isn't too hard either
two things i have to ask u cuz even i am confused between acc and eco
I gave last year's paper for both Eco and Accounts.
Eco - 200/250
Acc - 182/250
Note - I haven't prepared for either of the subjects, these are just my raw scores without any preparation. I can certainly do better in both with prep. Also, the accountancy set was the one without computerised accounting, so that is not a reason for the low score.
What do you think? I personally am more inclined towards Eco despite the increased syllabus - but at the same time, IED questions can be really annoying because I'm sure they'll ask specific dates and random NCERT stuff, so that could be a burden.
Tell me the rank in both pyps
Eco - 6/28
Acc - 1/3
yeah that's why i didn't share the ranks initially - only a handful of people have attempted these pyps on afterboards as of yet.
Well try to give older pyps with larger sample once and then share ranks
2024 PYP
Ranks
Eco - 20/309
Acc - 100/408
Scores
Eco - 182/200
Acc - 170/200
But bhaiya does the percentile even matter in CUET ?
Isn't it like you hhave to get the maximum aggregate marks for the respective courses to get selected
Yes, you are right - aggregate marks matter. But think this way - if at same marks one subject you get lower percentile and in other you get relatively higher percentile, that automatically means the second subject is easier It's easier to score more in that. But again, it's all subjective, if you can score well in economics, go for it.
There's a difference of 10-20 marks in you scores in both, it's considerable!.
Ahhh got it bhaiya
Although I was scoring arnd 200-210 in eco and 210-230 range in accounts
Even though Eco got me higher percentile yet I have decided to go with accounts as I personally find it easier and ik I'll score even higher in accounts if I just learn the theory part
All the best!
